Homes of The Future - What Will They Be Like?

We all have it, and those who don't are very unfortunate people; we sleep there at night, we mourn there, we are thinking about our future there, we live there. A home. People had it for millenia, and while it has taken many forms and types throughout the history, its looks and uses never expanded so much like in the previous few decades. With evolution of society goes along the evolution of home.

In this article, I'll delve into their past, look at their present, and try to foresee their future.

Homes have always served as hubs for people – they eat there, they relax there
, they simply live there. It's a place where they regenerate from a hard day, it's a place where they are safe from wind, rain, and cold.

Past homes and houses were crude, one-purposed buildings, serving only to provide shelter in times of need. These have evolved throughout the centuries – from simple buildings of clay, to cold stone castles and family houses of colonial America. While today's style and architecture of buildings is evolving slowly because of houses already built, their inventory and myriad of uses has radically changed.

Nowadays people spend more and more time home as opposed to going out; the social interaction and spending free time can now be easily acheived from home. Thus, homes are evolving faster than before, getting smarter and smarter every year.

The smartness is coming to light in these times. Today's trends are mainly about connecting things and people, and many house equipment and electronic companies are using it.

At this year's CES, number of smart home features were revealed, which will, by my opinion, even expand in forthcoming decades. They are planning for example a fridge, that texts you about your food's expiration date, and a heat system you can control with your smartphone from all around the world, and so on.

Predictions

But I don't think it will end there. I think that houses will become much more technologically sophisticated by the next century – they will be able to produce their own energy – through photovoltaics or some – and fully support the house without the need to be plugged into electric network.

The walls of our home will be fully customizable – able to mimic almost any wall type and color, windows will be changing size and density, so there could be the ideal amount of light inside. The air in the home would be fresh and pure at all times, without dust, without microbes.

The smart home will be connected with rest of the world – sharing newest trends in indoor design, providing information, weather news, and so on, displaying them on any customizable surface within the house. Classic TVs and computers will become obsolete – their hardware miniaturiazed to extreme levels and accesible on any wall, with stunning resolutions and realistic colors.

The home will be monitoring your life condition – displaying information on the walls about your sleep, lifestyle, your health, and will warn you at any signs of something wrong, alerting the medical service.

They will will be small – the Earth will be extremely overcrowded in 100 years, leaving living space per one human quite small. You won't need an3D printer will print your food, and virtual reality will take care about your needs of large house.
extremely large space –

I know that these predictions sound quite crazy, but I believe, that by the year 2100, this will become a reality, given current trends.

As always, I'll love if you speak about your opinion down below, and sharing this on any sharing site you like.
